Redemption’s First Anniversary Banquet
Redemption’s First Anniversary Banquet will be held on Saturday, September 18 at the St. James Parish House at 6 pm. The night is a celebration for all God has done, a look ahead to all God will do in Year #2, and a fundraiser to support the mission God has given us. There will be music, food, a raffle, and silent auction. If you or someone you know can contribute to the raffle or auction, please let us know! 2010 Missions Trip Details / FAQ
Jesus said, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” and sometimes you have to take that literally. We will be Christ’s witnesses, in both word and deed, to the community God has called us to. We will educate ourselves about the poor in our community. We will pray intentionally for our neighborhoods. We will build relationships with our community leaders, our neighbors, and those in need. We will be reminded of our daily calling to be a sent community, bringing the good news of Christ to everyone we meet.

What is our goal?
To show the Bristol and Lower Bucks County the good news of Jesus Christ in our words and deeds.Why aren’t we going somewhere more fun?
Umm…Bristol is fun. Plus, Bucks County and the surrounding area is the place we spend everyday. As a church, we believe that we are always in mission, to serve as the hands and feet of Jesus Christ every day. This week is not your week in ministry. It is an opportunity to come in touch with the movement of God in your hometown so that you may know God’s mission more fully throughout the year.Do I have to come for the whole week?
No. However, we ask that you commit to at least a full day so as to keep some continuity in our group.Do I have to spend the night?
No. However, spending the night offers valuable fellowship and a time to debrief from the days. Plus the Dorrance Street crew loves having you over.Will there be singing involved?
Yes. It’s good for you.Will this trip be awesome?
Yes. We pray humbly that the Redemption of God would come both to our group and to everyone we encounter that week. We pray that God would deepen us in fellowship and faith and help us to draw others into God’s salvation. This week may be uncomfortable, but it will be good. -

“Intro to Christianity” This Sunday (4/11)
This Sunday, April 11, we will meet at Gary’s house at 3 PM for a survey of Christianity in the form of a class called “Intro to Christianity.” The class is not academic in nature, but it is offered to provide a starting place for any interested.
This class is available to everyone. It is also being used as the first of two-part “baptism class” and is required for those seeking baptism on Sunday, May 2. The next required baptism class is on April 25.
Our worship service will follow at 6:30 PM, as normal.

Pastor Gary quoted in the Bucks County Courier Times
Pastor Gary Alloway was quoted in the Bucks County Courier Times, speaking about the crisis facing older suburbs like Bristol, PA.
Gary Alloway has become a big fan of Bristol in the 10 months since he moved to the riverside borough.
“I like that it is a community. I want to see it thrive,” said Alloway, pastor of the Redemption Church of Bristol.
But he’s concerned the town of approximately 10,000 residents could be headed on a downward slope.
“I’m afraid all the energy is being powered into inner cities and outer suburbs and we’re letting (the older) first ring suburbs die,” Alloway said.

Holy Week
Holy Week
This week remember the last week of Jesus’ life. We rejoice over what Jesus did for us. And we renew our calling to live like Jesus. There are plenty of opportunities to take part. Come to what you can. But also take time to reflect and be still with the God who died for you.
- Maundy Thursday – We remember the Last Supper and Jesus’ last command – Love one another as I have loved you. There is a 7:30 pm service hosted by Harriman UMC, 1700 Wilson Ave, Bristol.
- Good Friday – We remember the crucifixion. 7 pm. At The Well. Set up starts at 5 pm if you can help.
- Holy Saturday – We remember Jesus’ time in the grave. Traditionally a day of fasting. If you would like to fast and like company in that, come to Gary’s house at 2 pm. There will be Easter Egg dying. There is also a 7:30 pm hosted by Zion Lutheran, 301 Jefferson Ave, Bristol.
- Easter - He is risen! 6:30 am Sunrise Service. At the Lagoon Park in Bristol (Jefferson & Prospect). Redemption is help lead a community worship service. After this, we will join The Well for breakfast (9:30 am) and worship (10:30 am). He is risen indeed! Then take the rest of the day to feast and celebrate. If you need a place to feast, come to Gary’s house at 5 pm (Click “Contact Us” for more info).

Meeting in Santuary Tonight (3/28)
FYI Redemption Church will be meeting in St. James’ sanctuary tonight instead of the parish house. Another group is using the parish house so if it looks like a different group, it is.

Evangelism Class – Sunday at 3:30 PM
How do we talk about Jesus and not be awkward? Can we just live a good Christian life? Does evangelism mean I need to knock on doors? What is relational evangelism? Servant evangelism? Power evangelism? What if I go to school with all Christians? Does this still matter? What if I haven’t been to Bible college or seminary? Can I still be an effective witness?
